Tug McTighe is the Executive Creative Director at DEG, a trusted digital marketing partner to national and global brands. DEG is consistently recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in America and one of the best places to work in the region.
Tug loves incorporating the intersection of creativity and technology in order to create work that matters. As the Executive Creative Director, Tug does just that, leading the direction of DEG’s creative team from ideation and strategy to the publishing of that meaningful output.
Throughout his illustrious, 25-year advertising career — which began in an agency mail room — Tug has amassed a portfolio that features projects for brands like Sprint, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Pizza Hut, Sonic Drive-In, and Helzberg Diamonds. His work has been recognized across the advertising community both nationally – including the Communication Arts Ad Annual, AAF Addys, and Clio Shortlist — and locally, where Tug has won more than 50 AAF-KC Addy awards. Before coming to DEG, Tug was the Executive Creative Director at Callahan Creek for 11 years.
Along with producing award-winning work, Tug frequently speaks to students, professionals, and ad clubs across the country on the subject of marketing creativity. He also gives back to the Kansas City community, serving as a board member of Braden’s Hope for Childhood Cancer.
Tug earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Drake University. Away from the office, he can be found spending time with his family, coaching competitive youth soccer, and consuming as much pop culture as he possibly can.
